MUSEUM TOUR
Several thousand model trains and accessories from
many eras cirlce the the perimeter of the Museum's
Activity Center. The oldest train dates back
to a 1910 Voltamp engine. The Lionel™
collection starts in 1918. You will see engine numbers
42, 33 and 38 that date between 1918
and 1920.

There are a number of trains in the 1920’s and 1930’s
with the classic passenger sets including . . .
- The 1927-28 series 408E New York Central
(apple green) electric locomotive with passenger
cars ( the dining car has tables and chairs - a rarity
for Lionel™ )
- The 1932 Blue Comet - thought by
many to be one of Lionel’s™ most classic train sets
- Freight series engines of including numbers 384,
385, 390, 392 and 1835
- “Age of the Streamliners” passenger
trains

The collection includes:
- The 1935 Hiawatha and Flying
Yankee sets and the 1934 Union Pacific
City of Portland.
- The classic 1937 scale Hudson Locomotive
(#5344) with its red Rail Chief passenger
cars.
- The 1950’s era includes many of the classic F-3
diesel engines (B & O, Western
Pacific, Santa Fe, New York Central, Pennsylvania,
Milwaukee Road, Illinois Central, etc.),
- GG-1’s, EP-5’s and the Canadian Pacific,
Pennsylvania Congressional, Santa Fe Super Chief and
“Silver” series Lionel™ passenger
sets.

Overall, there are over 1,000 Lionel™ engines, rolling
stock cars and accessory items on display that make
up the Pre-War (1901–1942) and Post-War
(1945–1969) eras.
In addition, over 2,500 Lionel™ engines, rolling stock/passenger
cars and accessories from the Modern
era (1970 to present) are on display throughout the
museum or operating on layout.
